My most recent dice purchase is in a lighter I recently bought. The lighter flashes different colors when opened and has three six sided dice in its top cap, perfect for rolling ability scores. Igot it at After The Quake, a California shop in Monterey Bay, near the MB Aquarium, where parts of Star Trek IV was filmed.

I loaded up at Gencon:

You know, I don't think I've ever bought dice over the Internet.

Edit for additional info: These are the first dice I've bought in over ten years. Before this binge, I only had 36 dice in my roleplaying jar, plus whatever's in the various boxed games lying around my house. Now I need a bigger jar.

Also, I've never bought non-numbered dice before this Gencon. Now I have to figure out what I'm going to do with all the weird things I bought.

The last die I acquired was the d20 in a Cold Snap Fat Pack bought at a local gaming store. I've never bought dice online, and only received a single 'set' of dice (meaning a d4-d6-d8-d10-d12-d20) twice in my life: once with an old D&D boxed set (did the Basic box come with dice?) and once when I inherited my parents' no longer used set.

My dice are mostly obtained from other games: d6's from Warhammer (two editions) and Mage Knight, d20s from Star Wars minis and Magic the Gathering, d12s from Shogun, and d10s from... heck, I don't even REMEMBER where my d10s came from. My (2) d4s are leftovers from the two 'sets' of dice I've acquired, and my d8s are a mix of those and four awful crystal d8s that are so consistently under average that I suspect they probably have a problem with the way they were weighted. I also tend to get a lot of dice thrown away in frustration by other players; they never seem to understand that the bad luck is in THEM, not their dice. :]

My last purchased set of dice was in a store, although I got a bunch of FUDGE dice for free for agreeing to run some games.

However, my dice bag was bought over the internet. (Dice Goblin!)
