D&D Movie/TV Where is all of the Honor Among Thieves D&D stuff, WotC?

No, people are saying there's a lack of D&D stuff to play D&D with tied to the movie. Very few people are unaware of the comic book, the novels, the plushies, the t-shirts, the bath tub toys, the baseball caps, the truck nuts, the lip gloss, the breakfast cereal, the socks, and everything else.

The one thing conspicuously missing from the Honor Among Thieves merch is anything to help guide fans of the movie into becoming players of the game. Target and Barnes & Noble, not to mention comic and game shops, should have towering retail displays with Chris Pine's smiling face on them as he holds out movie-branded starter sets and collectible dice.

The best we can hope for at this point is that D&D Beyond -- a website a newbie will have no idea that they need to seek out -- might have something posted related to the movie in March.
Where’s my D&D the Flamethrower TM?!

I don't know. One the one hand I see what you're saying. They've done Stranger Things and Rick and Morty tie-ins, both of which were intended to drive more people to check out D&D, so why not a D&D tie-in?

On the other hand, everything they publish already has the name of the movie on it in a sense. I can see an argument for thinking that the starter set on the shelf at Target is already there for folks walking out of the movie to grab if the movie interested them and it already has the movie's branding on it in the sense that the words "Dungeons & Dragons" is plastered on the box.

On the gripping hand, I feel like I know what a D&D movie-tie in Starter Set would have looked like and I'm kind of happy they didn't.

I'm not sure what you mean. The movie has been in production for years. A tie in Starter Set would have been totally doable. It's the one thing WotC seems have been able to do consistently well, actually.

The movie is going to be exactly the same sort of PG-rated light quippy adventure-comedy that follows a well-worn path from Indiana Jones to Buffy and the MCU. Which is eminently predictable (everyone and their dog in filmland is trying to be the MCU right now), if not exactly a daring creative choice.
So... good?

Not that I'm going to go see this for obvious reasons, but as a creative, I'm pretty tired of people saying 'Oh no, they're going to be fun and enjoyable instead of the daring, creative choice' right after Game of Thrones turned the majority of the fantasy genre into depressive, grim garbage for the better part of twenty years and non-superhero action movies are only just not crawling out of the radioactive sludge they've been in since 2001.

People like fn. People like adventure and humor. And to tell them no, that's not right and not creative is... frankly enraging.

It's the gritty stuff people have been liking since 90's.

Not all of it eg MCU. The results will be obvious either way with the box office

Sometimes good. Sometimes not. The pile of crap they did before could not quip their way to decency.

The 3rd Thor movie with goldblum makes my whole family laugh. If you are silly you have to do it well.

I don’t predict this one will be any good. I will happily eat my words and watch it 3 times if I am wrong.

D&D is not a setting, it's a rule set, no one in character would call their worlds Dungeons and Dragons.
They wouldn't call it 'The Forgotten Realms' either. "I've been meaning to ask... Who's forgotten about our realms exactly?" "I dunno... folks?" "Where?" "I dunno"
and of course their are pops.

They should make a Funko Pop Mimic that looks like a Funko Pop box with teeth all around the window. Or that replace the plastic insert in the box.

Also, I want to see them do a gelatinous cube.
