where would you go?

Heh. The Maze would probably eat me for breakfast.

I'd pick:

The Shire (for a pint or two, and to walk barefoot)
Sharn (Not a huge Eberron fan, but it'd be fun to visit)
Hogwarts (I'd want to be the librarian, to do away with the negative-stereotype-reinforcing one they've currently got)
The Caves of Aglarond, after Gimli had settled in.

I'd go to Thieves' World's Sanctuary and head right to the Street of Red Lanterns.

I would go to Sigil (and probably get myself mazed! jk)... No really, Sigil is just too cool to miss, and from there I could go vitrually anywhere!

Secondly, I would go to Narnia. (Hey I might even be able to get there from Sigil ;) ).

The Tokyo Shoe, Shadowrun Seattle, 2051.
Once I finish goblinizing into a freakish troll coyote shaman, I'd need a few cold ones at "The Shoe" to recover.

Hm... Sigil is cool, but a little too dangerous for my tastes. Sure, you can skip the Lower Ward and the Hive... but that's where all the really exciting things are! Right before you get dragged through an ooze portal or mugged by tieflings, of course.

So I'll take Sharn. Nice city, lots of free space (;)), interesting people, good food.

Demiurge out.

Just one? Probably Rivendell.

Runners up:

Frank Herbert's Arrakis, to learn to ride sand worms.

Iest, to hang out with Lord Julius and drink with Cerebus the Aardvark.

Dave Hargrave's Arduin, to see a stampede of Thunder Bunnies.

Barsoom, mostly to meet Dejah Thoris.

Poseidon, the waterworld of the Blue Planet RPG, just to go sailing and diving.

I also think Tekumel would be an incredibly cool place to see.

And in a special category: Souvrael, my own first D&D homebrew.

I don't know that I'd stay forever in any of them.

Camelot to see the Round table. I couldn't stay long because without my insulin I'm pretty much useless.

I'd like to sit in on a session with the knights at the table.

maybe as a page or squire... although at my age... more like the old farmer presenting a petition for less taxes and more rights to hunt the King's Lands to feed my family.

I personally would enjoy walking the streets of Waterdeep for an evening or two.

And some serious tavern hopping. Maybe take it ward by ward, starting with the North Ward, probably waking up at some tavern in the Dock Ward wondering where my pantaloons are.

Hmm. Tough choice. I'd say Oz, myself. Why? There's enough magic there to get me anywhere else I wanted to go (and back)
