Which adventures from Dungeon Magazine have you used since it went 3E?

Chris, I use many snippets from Dungeon -- I use stat blocks, I use maps (especially like the printable ones from the website -- will you still be providing that service?). I used the Galath's Roost map recently, some dwarven vampire stats recently, stuff like that.

I do like making my own maps and my own stats (spent a couple of hours building creatures I might need in the future, everything from Behirs of Xvim to Half-Fiend Fire Giants to Fiendish Scorpionmen Rangers) but when time is running short it is very nice to be able to find a nice underground lair, above ground fortress, city, etc. and to use stats that are already put together.

Thinking out loud here...

I will need to go through my older mags again soon for a suitable castle/keep type map to use as a fortress in the lower planes. Hmm, let's see, there was this one situated in the middle of a river with some sort of a bridge deally leading to it .... I should check out the Maps of Mystery, too, I often overlook those.

Ooh, Rana Mor's map could come in handy for an extra-planar location too.

I ran #91 Challenge of Champions IV for a group of 7th level characters. I tried to use real items for props whenever possible and they had a blast, though they didn't win.

I ran #88 Thirds of Purloined Vellum (1st level adventure) as a solo adventure for an 8th level Tiefling rogue. The rogue was actually a member of the Shadow Thieves. I altered it as if it was for a party of 4th or 5th level characters. A very challenging adventure for him.

I ran House of Harpies (wizards.com) right after Challenge of Champions. The rogue was given a mission by her guild to clear the treehouse and regain their hideout.

I'm considering running Eye for an Eye (wizards.com) for a particular Succubus in an Adventure Path module that was taunted by the party and eventually got out after they left her to rot and now she wants revenge.

I'd also really like to run #88's The Seventh Arm. I like puzzles to mix up the combat.

I haven't had a choice to use any yet but I'll be starting tonight with "Bloodlines" (from #94 I think) . I have 9 players so I always end up scaling adventures anyway.

I'm also considering using "Tears for Twilight Hollow" from issue 90 sometime soon.

There are several others that I really like but probably won't get to fit in my current campaign -- most notably "Cradle of Madness" (#87), "Wedding Bells" (#89 - although I already use the scaling rules published in this adventure) and "Bogged Down" (I can't remember the issue number).

Chris, thanks for checking in with us. If you recieve any good submissions, it would be great to see a few more urban adventures.

Here, here. I love city-based adventures with less of the linear progression and more of the mystery-solving, site independent information gathering. That's why I liked Thirds of Purloined Vellum so much.

Any feedback on the adventures? Fun? Funny? Any anecdotes?

Dungeon of the Fire Opal, which has been mentioned by a few posters, is a fun dungeon crawl. The dragon is tough, as Steve points out, but it did provide a high point in the action when the party's halfing barbarian jumped on top of it and skewered it repeatedly with his +1 bastard sword. The halfling ended up critting the thing and killing it outright while the rest of the party was down to 0 or fewer hit points and he had 5 or so left. It was a very fun, tense encounter.

Interestingly enough, one of the imps from that adventure became Kershaaz, the critical threat I had published in Dungeon #95. I had a lot of fun using the imps' spells and abilities to harass the players, and the evil sorcereress's bat familiar provided a pretty cool moment when it fluttered into the room and landed on the party druid's outstretched hand, delivering a touch spell (I forget which one, it's been a while.) IIRC, it was like "Oh, look, a cute creature of the forest. Come here, little one, and ... OH GODS, GET IT OFF!!! GET IT OFF!!!"

All in all, a quality dungeon. I wish they made more adventures like that.

Are you thinking of Tarnhem's Fortress in the Dungeonbuilder's Guidebook or the 2E anti-paladin adventure with the castle in the river?

Anyway, thanks; Rana Mor is exactly the map I'm looking for my next campaign (yuan-ti temple of Demogorgon).

So far I've used bits and pieces of Dungeon plots, maps and villains but I always have a few Dungeon adventures on standby in case the PCs go a-wandering.

Cheers

Off the top of my head.... ehhhhhh I think i've used like 3... but i'm not sure.

My players just got through "Prey for Tyrinth" last session...

I used (not sure of exact title here...) "The Legend of Gathulga" to introduce one of our newer players to the game a few months ago.

I used one of the very early maps of mystery as part of the underdark below my characters stronghold...

If i've used any others the names escape me at the moment.

I love Dungeon... so much good stuff that i could use at a moment's notice. :)

I think I've used only one, but have liked many and wanted to use them. Though when I did use Thirds of Purloined Velum it was with the wrong group and went completely wrong. Now to use the rest, but first find group to play with. By the way hello everyone long-time reader first time poster.

I ran "Lord of the Scarlet Tide" for my group. TPK. After barely defeating the Ancient Behir they really should have gone back to town for some much needed rest :)

I have run and continue to worship Omega World.

I also ran a brief adventure about an Ent and an abandoned wizard tower covered in ice. I can't remember the name.

I ran Raiders of Galath's Roost at GenCon 2001 for a few friends and JD wiker. I didnt get to finish it though.
