Adventures

My group tends to use a bunch of stuff from DUNGEON. None of us have lots of time to prep games, so we tend to use DUNGEON to fill in the blanks between larger published adventures.

#82: Evil Unearthed, Playing with Fire, An Eye for an Eye

#83: Deep Freeze (soon)

#84: Dungeon of the Fire Opal

#86: Rana Mor

#87: Glacier Season

#90: Tears for Twilight Hollow (soon)

#91: Challenge of Champions IV

...Ooh, Rana Mor's map could come in handy for an extra-planar location too.

I think Rana Mor is one of the best adventures to ever hit the pages of Dungeon. Very exotic in feel and an absolute treat to run.

Eric - I placed the Rangkas "across the sea" in my adventure, requiring a 4 week journey by boat. Almost like a "New World", so to speak, with the descendants of the Rangka Empire still alive.

I HIGHLY recommend this adventure. Very, very good. Rich Baker wrote it, I believe. He is quite talented.

Yeah, it's cool and I like the heucuva template in that one too. :)

The adventure doesn't realy fit my campaign world, but the Huecuva is in my binder and has been used a few times... it's also nice to have monsters which are not in the MM - my players don't know what to exspect at all!

Are you thinking of Tarnhem's Fortress in the Dungeonbuilder's Guidebook or the 2E anti-paladin adventure with the castle in the river?

"The Forgotten Man"? One of the best adventures ever published in Dungeon. I tried to convert it to 3e, and let me tell you- I'd suggest reducing the Lich from 17th level to 12th. Even with Michael's help, there's no way that a party of 7th level characters can take down a Lich that could reduce them to pudding with a single maximized chain lightning. Be forewarned... and if they have to take on both Michael and the Lich, well- they'd better run. FAST.

(If your players have no respect for Liches after cutting their way through a horde of them in the Baldur's gate series... well, this adventure will put some fear back into their hearts. Also recommended are any of the old 2nd edition adventures featuring Azalin, Vecna... or Return to the Tomb of Horrors. :))

They only one I have used, is Challenge of Champions. I really liked that one. I would like to see more like that. It was a lot of fun. I split my group into 2 groups, and played them through it, to see which one got the high score.

What would be worthwhile, would be an index of articles with location (dungeon, outdoors, town), and level description. Even better, add a brief description to it.

Chris, thanks for checking in with us. If you recieve any good submissions, it would be great to see a few more urban adventures.

Well, in issue #97, we'll be featuring a really cool 1st-level adventure written by Christopher Perkins. It's part city-based, part undercity-based. As a matter of fact, this adventure is particularly special, since it launches the DUNGEON Magazine Adventure Path. We'll have more information in a special preview in issue #96, but we plan on continuing the adventure path every other issue or so.
