That was kind of what I meant by "hard to do" in that context; that you kind of need to go out of your way to ruin potatoes (barring the usual overcook/undercook issues which apply to almost any food you cook at all).

A sweet potato isn't actually a potato, rather it's a distant relative. They're in the same order as the potato, but a different family and genus. They don't really belong on this list because they're no more a French fry than tater tots are. Though at least tater tots are made from actual potatoes.

Sweet potatoes are actually quite delicious. I enjoy sweet potato casserole on Thanksgiving (without marshmallows) and I like to cube them and roast them in the oven.

In my country we only consume them for dessert. Be it baked with condensed milk and ground cinnamon, crystalized, or boiled with sweet spices and panela.

Homestyle fries. Specifically the fries at Bionic Burger which, to this day, remain the best fries I've ever had in my life. I don't know if they still offer it, but you could get them sprinkled with sea salt and rosemary once upon a time. Absolutely mouth watering.
