I feel undead, fiends and fey are overused, so anything but those gets my vote.

It's certainly possible. This is D&D, and anything is possible in D&D. However, it just so happens that, in my world, it's a plot point that Graz'zt is the progeny of Pale Night. I know it's been floated that the lord of the nine could have been her lover and Graz'zt's Asmodaddy, but that's just silly. Pale Night is way out of his league. If Zariel can be a duke of hell, despite having started existence as an angel, cannot Graz'zt be a demon prince, despite having started existence as a devil?
There's much to be said for being able to "corrupt" (and, conversely, "purify") even some of the most powerful beings.
Back in the TSR era of D&D, there was a book called D&D Crucible: Night Howlers. It was designed for anyone wanting to roleplay a lycanthrope PC back then.Give me one on Lycanthropes. Beyond that, maybe Undead.
A Construct Druid would certainly be more than meets the eye. Especially if they took up the homebrewed Circle of the Forged subclass.I voted constructs as i think they’re a much neglected archetype with alot of potential, but I nearly went for plants, especially if it would’ve come with halfway decent natural exploration challenges
Personally, I kinda like that idea though. Especially if you take the 4e notion that Asmodeus was the right hand of He-Who-Was, and Pale Night could be part of the former's Start of Darkness. I really like that actually. It's certainly possible. This is D&D, and anything is possible in D&D. interesting subclass, though a bit too focused on wildshape to properly explore the concept IMO, like, none of those features (beyond the initial raising of wildshape CR cap) really rely on anything about wildshape to function they just feel like they're just tied to it because it's a druid subclass and wildshape is the druid's thing.A Construct Druid would certainly be more than meets the eye. Unfortunately, there is a good reason there are monstrosities instead of beast: It's because Druids wildshape has to pull from monster stat blocks.Beasts! I want to see actual fantasy animals that are like... animals instead of monstrosities for no good reason.
Before I came across this subclass, I mused about a Warforged subrace known as the Wereforged. Warforged who could shapeshift into a beast mode. You can thank Beast Wars for that.interesting subclass, though a bit too focused on wildshape to properly explore the concept IMO, like, none of those features (beyond the initial raising of wildshape CR cap) really rely on anything about wildshape to function they just feel like they're just tied to it because it's a druid subclass and wildshape is the druid's thing.
it could've been a subclass for construct-type creature transformations if it wanted to tie wildshape into things
