Which currently non-core classes would you add?

I think it need some sort of Witch class. Considering how common that archetype is in fantasy, it's always struck me as odd that there has never been an official one, really (closest was the Adept, really).

Agreed. I'd like to see one like we had in DRAGON #114

Er... what about warlock? What do you mean by witch, exactly?

Me, I'd say beguiler, dread necromancer, totemist, and... some kind of magical rogue type of class, something like assassin minus the death attack, or like a swordsage heavy on shadow hand maneuvers.

Hoo boy.

There was a big long argument back a few months ago about whether Witch was a more appropriate word for Warlock.

But the jist of it is, Witches aren't fire-shooting demon summoners. Sure, they can toss around curses, but they are also associated with adjuration, divination, enchantments, healing, and weather control. The Adept's spell list captures this to a large degree.

That's a much different set of powers versus sending people to hell and turning a section of ground into acid.

Allow me to put it in much simpler terms:

The Witch would be a Leader with a little striker, while the Warlock is a striker with a little controller.

That's a fair concept to call "witch".

You can't just say "witch" and expect people to think of that one, though. The word covers more concept-space than that.
