Which Is The Best Spontaneous Divine Casting Class?

Would it be

a)Favoured Soul?

b)Mystic? (from the Dragonlance Campaign Setting)

c)Shugenja?

d)Spirit Shaman?

e)Healer?

In terms of being an analogue to the Cleric, the way the Sorcerer is the spontaneous analogue to the Wizard.

And why?

Personally to me it's the Mystic, but then the Favoured Soul seems to be the default for Cleric spontaneous casting. But I don't really like the Favoured Soul's class features, so... well, what are your thoughts and opinions?

Don't know anything about the mystic, so I can't tell you much about it.

The idea behind the spirit shaman is great, but in the end, I think the number of spells he "knows" each day is too limited. Haven't seen one in action, though.

Healers are, well, healers. They're not good for anything else. Not really a character concept I'm eager to play.

Shugenja are cool, with another great concept, but they don't fit that well into a general D&D game.

So I'd say it's the favoured soul. Quite nice, that PrC (though it loses some of the cleric's punch because of its lack of turning).

Don't know much about the Mystic.

Out of the ones I do know. Favored Soul with the Shugenja in seond. Spirit Shamans are wonky, I dislike them immensely.

I once played a savoured foul, uh, favoured soul. The main thing I remember is rolling three natural ones in a row: One for a empowered fireball (I think it was empowered) - BAM 60 damage (50 after resistancees), the second for massive damage. The third just to see whether I roll like crap or what.

I chose not to let this character be resurrected.

As someone who has seen both the Favoured Soul and Mystic in play, the Favoured Soul wins for me by a mile.

Cheers!

Mystic in concept, Favored Soul in Practice.

Which saddens me somewhat.

Healers aren't spontaneous divine casters, btw (but they SHOULD be)
