You mean like the namby-pamby two handed grace-over-raw-power type weapons the orcs use? The 'oh we need to use both hands to swing this sword that does as much damage as your longsword, but we might crit slightly more often' orcish falchions?

Pff. Real warriors indeed. Might as well dance around the maypole in a frilly dress while you're swinging such nancy weapons.

Real Warriors use War Scepters. That or at least duel wield battle axes.

dwarves by far. Until i took up rock hounding as a hobby i would have said Orcs. But now that i have actually wandered around the hills all day swinging a sledge hammer then gone home to count up my loot and start drinking i say Dwarves all the way.

Add in being 4'5 and having a racial stereotype of kicking the crap out of any 6'0 Orc that gets in your way? After you drank him under table and worked all day in mines? Thats one macho little dude.

Well, the giants aren't Humanoids in the D&D sense. If they were, I'd say Storm Giant, but only because I'm thinking of a particular NPC from my games.

Anyway for creatures with the Humanoid type...

For "macho" as a derogatory term, I'd say orcs. Loud, crude, aggressive, swaggering and ineffective.

For "macho" as a complimentary term, I'd say scro. Confident, powerful, virile, determined and badass.

Since hobgoblins have basically been written as somewhat weaker scro in 3e, they get the nod from those on the list.

It's yak folk all the way baby! Everyone on the list so far is just a new change of clothes for these body-hopping, genie controlling, staff-wielding, slave-owning, well-groomed minotaurs. Their pic in Monster Manual II shows 'em sporting some serious bling to boot. These guys got "New World Order" written all over them.
