I'm thinking of starting a PbP, and decided to test the waters first as to what people would like to play. Vote away!

Personally, I'm leaning a bit more towards Conan but I'm always open to other input.

CONAN :) just cause no one else runs one!

I run a face-to-face game here in Seattle and it is great fun (except last weekend I learned... DO NOT send things after Barbarian that cause Terror if he has a good will save AND a bardiche... Red Mist, two-handed [x1.6 str mod], 2d10 base, reach... lots of dead badguys...)

Just as clarification, the COC 1890s campaign is somewhat of a misnomer: I'm stuck in that phase from having run similar games in college. It'll really be a horror campaign, most likely using the d20 Modern rules to make it a bit more survivable than straight COC. Using a little bit of Cthulhu gods and stuff, a lot more Cthulhu atmosphere than anything. It would also be foreshadowing the Dark*Matter game a bit. ;)

Well I bet it would sure help to have the Conan book but I don't know if it is 100% required... the only proble would be picking cool feats that are not part of the normal d20 and/or if someone wanted to play a spell-casting Scolar (as the spells are totally different)

Tell us your plans Andrew

I was just thinking about that bit, whether the Conan book is required - I'd say no, unless you're playing a Scholar, in which case you really need to have the book. If you're just playing a warrior-type, it's not as important. I don't really want to out-of-hand limit people's class choices like that, but like Karl said, the whole thing of Conan magic is almost completely different than standard DnD's.

I'm probably going to go with a Conan game. I have my notes on the setting worked up and all that, I just need to actually start planning and plotting the adventure. It'll probably be set in Ophir, BTW (I was toying around with Nemedia/Brythunia, but changed my mind).

The order of voting fits well with what I wanted - after Conan, Dark*Matter was my second preference, followed by 1890s. Depending on how time goes, I might still run the Dark*Matter, as well.

Hopefully within the next few weeks, you'll hear more on this. Thanks for voting, everyone!

Kewl well keep me in mind when you finally get ready to start and are calling for characters.

In my face-to-face game the characters are in Turan right now... running from the "law" hehe

next week... pirate actioon on the high sea
