It's pretty much a given that we'll see new species being introduced for 2024 RPG as time goes on. But it's a matter of when, where and which new species will show up next. So, for the time being, what species would you like to see next for 2024 D&D?

Right now, I would like to see the Genasi for 2024 D&D. Mostly to complete the Planetouched trifecta, but also to see how they will be presented. We'll probably just see Air, Earth, Fire and Water Genasi and they'll probably be presented in the same way the Tieflings were presented, with a table showing what they are resistant to and what spell-like abilities they might have at 1st, 3rd and maybe even 5th level. The rules for mixed species in 2024 D&D could be used to create the Para-Genasi (Magma, Smoke, Ice, Dust, Steam and Ooze).

The Multiverse version of all the species are just fine. I really do not want to have more updated player options taking up page space when there is nothing wrong with the versions we have.

I would rather see species that are unique to certain settings, and hopefully new settings.

Genasi is definitely the big one. Thri-Kreen will be needed for Dark Sun--and could be used as a basis for Tharks, which would be cool.

I'd like to see a proper, serious plant-people species, Shardminds, and satyrs. Would be cool to see wemic/lion-taur types again, haven't had them in a while and I've always liked that as a concept.

Bring back shardminds and wilden. Plant people and rock people are two very common fantasy staples and they remain unsupported by published 5e content.
