The way it was talked about earlier made it sound like it. Sorry if I misread

ValhallaGH said:I do have a serious question. How has the galaxy not already exploded into an orgy of civil war? A millennium is a long time for paranoid people to build private armies and arrange private alliances; I would think that over such a length of time someone would have started trouble already.
Very satisfactory, thank you.Sunglar said:Valhalla, minor conflict have occurred, but mostly contained within sectors and the Senate is powerless to do anything. When the “peace” was agreed upon many limitations were in place, armament, amount of ships each system could deploy, little by little the rules have been broken. More powerful alliances/groups/block (call it what you may) have annexed, colonized or made neighbors protectorates. Now the big guys are getting ready for the inevitable big fight they perceive will come no matter what… So in effect even the illusion of the long peace is a sham!
Is that satisfactory?
To again draw upon my WWI parallel, colonization of Africa. It let things stew for a decade or two longer than they would have but in the end that just made everything that much worse. After the war that reformed the Republic, new territories previously opened to exploit tactical advantage could have became open to colonization/exploration. Given the vastness of a galaxy size frontier full settlement of new systems could take centuries by itself.

Please use the d20 Modern autofire attack rule, or some semblance of it.Moridin said:Wow, thank goodness Saga Edition didn't sprout of d20 Modern then. We might have used some mechanical concepts from Modern, but it's its own game.

That's just fun. Using people's unfounded assumptions against them is one of life's little joys.Sunglar said:What do you think about using characters form the prequels and recasting them in a different light? There are obviously characters that need to be there, Obi-Wan, Anakin, etc, but what about others? Many will be playing decidedly different roles and I was hoping on playing on their misconceptions.
