Who’s your vote for the next James Bond?

So we’ve had a Scot, an Irishman, an Australian, three Englishmen (and an unofficial American, but we don’t count that).

Three weren’t English, two weren’t British (not counting Niven). So those are our precedents.

Some of the usual favourites have aged out now—they need somebody in their 30s so they can get a good 15 years and 5 movies out of them before they age out. That ruels out Idris Elba (52). Henry Cavill is on the outer edge at 41.

So with all that in mind… who is your vote?

I liked the guy that did the Kingsmen films, but I don't think he quite has the slightly rough edge that Bond should have.

Cavill is probably a little too old right now for a role that they want to cast for the next 15 years. Unless they start filming tomorrow, he'd probably be around 60 by the time he's doing publicity in the last film, and bitching about it like Daniel Craig did, which is probably not what the Broccolis want to deal with again.

And Cavill already has a lot of tread on his tires in terms of action roles. I wonder if his patience would run out faster than Craig's did.

Wikipedia eliminated a lot of my possibilities.

I'd say, assuming it's someone who's already an international celebrity and not someone plucked from TV or the West End, Tom Holland, Richard Madden and Taron Egerton all seem like good prospects. I suspect Holland will be done with franchises once he's no longer Spidey, though.

This makes me realize how old I am. I don't think I am familiar enough with younger actors to even have an informed opinion on who it should be. But my two favorites are Connery and Dalton, so I'd like to see a bond more like them

It's a shame, too, since he was terrifying in Mission Impossible and his Man from UNCLE role was an amazing Bond audition tape.
