Of the artists WOTC typically employs, I like Mark Smylie best by far.

I'm always hearing how some people long for a return to the "pseudo-realism" of artists like Elmore. Elmore's work was not at all realistic; Smylie's, however, is. I'll take Smylie over the likes of Elmore any day.

What I'd really like to see would be WOTC employing an accomplished artist in the field of historical illustration, for example, Graham Turner.

That's some proper verisimilitude there. Wayne Reynold's own efforts in the arena of historical illustration don't merit a mention.

I like Brom, Lockwood, Keith Parkinson, Clyde Caldwell, and these two some of you might not know:

Do they have web sites?

Hmmmm.

Crabapple used to have one. But now I can't find it. Here is a link to a page (Pen&Paper.net) which has a list of some (not sure if its all) of the D&D books he has illustrated for. I'll leave it to you all to search through the specific Art Galleries for his stuff.

Here is Jarvis' site: http://www.jeremyjarvis.com/
