My DM is picking it up, and so am i. But three other players just bought new books to replace thei tattered ones and said it would really peeve them if they had to drop another hundy. Two said, "if it aint broke, why fix it."

So DM said he would buy it, and take what he wants from it. ANd those things, he will call "house rules"

AS the DM in our group, I'll pick it up right away. I'm not sure how quickly we'll make a change to the new system though. I'll discuss the ideas with my players, but if it looks like it will bring too many changes to the cqampaign at hand, I'd prefer to finish it out in 3E and then switch. If it looks like it will be a seamless change, we'll change once I have a good grasp of the rules. Most likely, we'll probably continue to play 3E for the remainder of the campaign, incorporating good fixes that work seemlessly into the campaign. Once the campaign is done, we'll switch completely if that is what the group wants to do.

Both my groups will be converting.

I will permit the usage of 3.0E classes and races if they are preferred, but we are definitely using the changed spells and items.

(This makes 3 different versions of the Sorcerer available in my campaign, ditto with the Ranger).

My word is law in such matters - I'll provide the PCs with the relevant conversion information until they get the books, but my books are already ordered and hopefully will arrive sooner rather than later.

Cheers!

My freinds and me will be making the switch to 3.5. Though it is kind of a decesion between the three of us and a no-brainer since we like pretty much all of the new changes. As for our current game making the switch we dunno since the other people we game with aren't working out to well and they didn't even know about 3.5 until we told them about it.

There will be an open discussion and debate, then I will tell them we are switching to 3.5.

Seriously though, there really hasn't been a lot of debate, the players know that the changeover is coming, they had already been complaining about some of the things that the revision is fixing (Layout of the Monster Manual, Rangers in general) so it is really no big deal.

My answer is that we'll have a debate about it, and explore both sides of the options. Then the final decision is mine as the DM. Of course, given that my book money is going into UA first, then maybe Mutants and Masterminds, it's a while before I'm going to buy any classical fantasy stuff.

It will be a discussion and mutual decision for me and my group.

However, my players have already said that they will not be buying brand new books this early in the game when they already have perfectly good ones, and certainly have absolutely no intention of going to a tattered print-out when they have already spent their hard-earned money on hardcover books.

So it looks like we won't be converting for some years yet.
