Tell me Diaglo, was the introduction of the "Thief" class in Greyhawk the beginning of the end or was it the "Druid" in Eldrich Wizardry? (stupid druids, they were villians or occasional allies, not PCs.)

i was okay with the supplements. they were optional rules in my campaign. ;)

the beginning of the end was the introduction of 1edADnD. my players all wanted to switch. b/c it was "advanced.":p

i struggled a little with them, but eventually converted.

i still prefer the Original.

Even though its the DM that decides, most of the group is so obsessed with WOTC books we wouldn't have a choice anyway. I could see a 3.0/3.5 mix though, if someone were stubborn, wit hrules shifting to 3.5 to settle arguements.

I have submisive players. I told them 3.5 is coming out. They all said, "Ok." :D

Same here.

I'll be starting a new campaign when it comes out. RttToEE with minimal house rules. Should be an interesting playtest.

the DM players come and go. of course the ones in my current group are looking forward to seeing the 3.5 changes. but weither I allow them into my current game is up to me.

It's all about compromise. While I'm often DM, anyone of my other friends would be willing to take up the mantle as well; as such, dictators for DM's and unwelcome changes don't last long where I come from. The game's a group thing, after all, and I don't play where my voice goes unheard.

The switch is not optional.

My will is law. We upgrade.
While I normally wouldn't agree with this, it's my opinion is that 3.5 is fixing enough of the problems that I see in the game that I can't in good conscious run what I consider a broken game when I'm staring at something that is much better. Fortunately, my players either agree or are ambivalent, and they're all suckers for buying new stuff anyway. :)

We'll be doing full character reallocations though, and anyone unhappy with the changes will be allowed to create entirely new characters if they want.
