well, i currently do not have any gamers as the last group disbanded, but all of my games have typically been with ppl i already knew. btw, anyone in the louisville ky area interested in playing pregenerated pc's in the "crypt of the devil lich", let me know, i need a few more ppl!.

My weekly group has been together for nearly 20 years. One was a friend from high-school, one was his friend, and the other two were brought in on a game by a mutual friend that no longer plays. They've all been in the "friend" category for so long that it's odd to think of them as people I met through gaming (hell, one of them's my brother-in-law now). Another bi-weekly group I'm in is composed of en-worlders met online and my girlfriend, and yet another group (that's only played once so far, so maybe not a real group) was with people I met online elsewhere.

I've got two different gaming groups, one is mostly made up of my high school friends that have been playing together since the mid-80's. The second group has been together since about 2000 and consists of myself, three friends from my paintball team, one from another paintball team, and two I know from the gaming store I used to work at.

Right now, I'm playing with some all-new folks I met through the WotC boards. We'll see if any true befriending happens.

The group I DM for consists of:
One friend from junior high school.
One friend from high school.
One friend from when I moved to Columbus after college.
Her brother and sister-in-law.
One friend I met at a different game two years ago.
The group I've played with since 2003 consists of people that I met via an enWorld posting for new players.

A linguist I had a couple of classes with who grew up in the town where the University is located. He posts here as Cunnilinguae Linguist.
A linguist/exchange student from a city called Lui-ville in a place called Kan Tuck Kee.
Another linguist from another couple classes, but I'm not sure where she's from.
Geeze, linguists are geeky. I think they're great, but sometimes I feel bad for my wife having to put up with us all.

The group that I DM for has four players:
PLAYER 1: My best friend. I knew him in JHS and we became more friendly in HS. We also worked together for 9 years (ending last year).
PLAYER 2: Player 1's wife. A good friend for 10 years now. She has worked with us for about 7 years.
PLAYER 3: My sister's boyfiend's friend (no, I didn't get that wrong.) When they started dating we merged our gaming groups, having lost members to college, we kept Brian.
PLAYER 4: Another co-worker, about 5 years.
I joined the group I play in through the internet.
