Who Do You Want Illustrating 4th Ed.?

I don't like WAR
Sure, there's some folks on the internet who don't, and who complain about him nonstop.

I'm just saying my impression is that he's been extremely popular. The idea that WotC is only using him because he's cheap---as implied by James Heard---strikes me as preposterous. And the guy's working like crazy with the best publishers in the industry; the ones most likely to be able to afford their pick. He's done all of Green Ronin's Freeport covers for the last few years. He's working tons with Paizo, including apparently doing all their Pathfinder stuff. His penetration at WotC has been increasing ever since 3e launched.

True; I haven't empirically proven it, but I find all of those consistent with the idea that the reason he's being used so much is because by and large, most customers really like his work.

I think we'll get WAR, because WAR is what the art directors at WOTC are familiar with and comes at the right price.

I'm sure the fact that he's talented, popular, and has defined the look of an entire campaign setting may factor into that decision.

edit: Hobo said it faster and better.

Hobo must be stopped!

I know how it is. You've only been here six years or so, with almost 1400 posts to your name, so we can't expect that you've absorbed all the rules. And yet... a little niggling part of me thinks that the "no politics" rule might, just might, be one you'd remember.

No?

In other words, please stay far away from political references in the future. Honest!
