Who Else Has Never Been To Gen Con?

I too have wanted to go for 26+ years and will be attending for the first time this year, and can't wait to meet the friends I've never met. Half of the reason I'm going is to see the ENWorlders I talk to on a regular basis and my friends from the Castle of Fun from the WotC site, whom I 've also never met.

I've been gaming since 1978 and I've never been to GenCon.

And unless I win a lottery sometime soon I won't ever be going... just can't afford a trip, the hotel and the spending money...

In fact, I've never been to any Con, period.

I lived in Milwaukee when the Con was still there. The news coverage was a bit of a put-off. And I found it easier to handle the local flea-markets and antique malls than the swarms of gamerz who descended on the town. Never was even tempted to walk in those doors.

I succumbed to the urge once I moved to where I live now, and checked out a Con. My eyes still burn.

OThe only reason I would ever make it to GenCon is to meet up with awesome EN Worlders. Everything else about it has no real appeal for me.

Hmm, maybe EN World should have it's own Convention.
