Who Else Has Never Been To Gen Con?

Someday, I'll go to Gen Con if for no other reason than to get some of you Enworlders out there for me to meet (I want to play OD&D with diaglo, hehe).

Hmm, maybe EN World should have it's own Convention.

That'd be cool.

I've never been to GenCon, nor any gaming convention proper (I've been to one in the final 10 minutes or so, after everyone but the vendors had left)... work got in the way (ie, don't have time to go), and the money is an issue though I'd look for a way to pay for it if I had the time to go.

As for others, the biggest appeal for conventions is to meet ENWorlders, though I'm sure I could find other things to entertain myself with too.

Diaglo amuses me, and though I know very little about OD&D, I'd be curious to play a game with him. And I hear Piratecat is both the ultimate GM and the ultimate player.

Never been either. I've never been to an RPGA event either.

Never had the money in High School or University and after University I re-located to Japan and now I REALLY do not have the money or time.

I can never get the time off from work to go - GenCon falls right in the middle of our Tourist Season here, and there's no way I can take vacation time. We're just too busy. That, and money issues.
But I have promised myself that I will attend GenCon at least once in my life.
