Who "Owns" Old PC's?

I don't see where taking full responsibility for your own emotions is a bad thing.

I think he's worried that i'll just say "All emotions come from you, not me. There's nothing i do that you should ever get upset about. If i hurt you, you hurt you. It's your fault, not mine."

Guess what. I DO think that. And im still not a jerk... :) There's a big difference between thinking a person is utterly responsible for their own emotional state and thinking a person is utterly responsible for their own emotional states while performing actions that harm that individual.

I try to not hurt people. Even if i think it's their fault, or i think they deserve it, or i think i'm right. I don't always succeed (I tend to get "testy" in some of my posts occassionally :) )

I think *turn on wiggy tripped out music* i am other people. When i hurt them, i hurt myself. *turn off wiggy tripped out music*

I understand that you, Kahuna, see a fine line between what i think and psychosis. And there is a fine line.

Weeeeeeeeeeelll..see now you may have strayed a bit. :) I mean, if you hit me, you hurt me because you originated some form of damage to my physical being and it's right and natural to experience pain as an indication that my physical being was injured. That's good survival instinct. Not if you insult me then I'll agree with the concept that I am originating the pain by my reaction to your words, which need not affect me at all. :) Knowing when pain of any sort of neccesary or not is a high ideal, and an art form in it's own way. But the ideal can be taken too far if it infringes on the body's natural process of neccesary information transferral to the brain and consciousness.

*grins* I just love this thread. hehe

sorry, i did stray a bit there. I ment to only be talking about emotional pain, not physical pain. The if i called you names thing....

actually i think people can overcome the physical bit, but that's pretty much another subject entirely and something that i'll never be able to do.

*nods* I thought you'd agree about the straying a bit part. :)
Oh, I completely agree, physical pain can definately be overcome, but in some cases it *shouldn't* be, because that would go against the body's well-built 'neccesary information transferral systems'. I was never very good at it, either, although I have practiced it in lesser forms from time to time. I.e. I dislike needles with a passion, but as an adult I am expected to take the occasional injection with some bit of dignity. *chuckles* So I have managed to come up with a method of focusing my attention of a different body part (usually the opposite arm, which I tense to the degree that I can let the other arm go slack). It doesn't dull the pain any, really, but it does allow me to provide the person with the needle an optimal injection site. :)

It's all a matter of degrees. :)

Is it this thread or the off topic round the mountain long sited view of why you should/shouldn't get mad if somebody nabs your character and how that relates to your general emotional well being as a centered person. I think Mr Theoretical Gamer ate his character sheet two pages ago, were not off topic we are way off topic, but in a fun way.

I understand that you, Kahuna, see a fine line between what i think and psychosis. And there is a fine line.

Well I don't see you as a threat to society just yet, now if you start a cult I'll have to agree with Kahuna Burger. As a personal philosophy it's ok (well in a tree hugging hippie type of way). Sure your not a Buddhist?

It's the mental game of tag, that's the fun part. And yeah, I think our TG found himself a new group to play with a few pages back and forgot all about us. :)

She. And I wasn't 'worried' about that, since it was actualy pretty obvious from your posts. I appriciate you spelling it out, though.

Guess what. I DO think that. And im still not a jerk... :)

I'm afraid 'jerkhood' is not something you can self assign. Its subjective from other people. But I'm glad to hear that you have avoided taking the step from your thoughts to full blown sociopathic thinking.
