Oddly, no one's managed a split in their first two Division Series games, so the Indians, Rockies, Red Sox, and Diamondbacks seem near-certain to advance. If I were to guess, I'd say Indians over Diamondbacks. But not another 7-game series; I don't think Cleveland fans could take that on the ten year anniversery of the 1997 debacle.*

* The 1997 Indians were winning in the 9th inning of game 7 of the World Series. Jose Mesa blew the save.

Not the Cubs! Mwhahahahahahahahaha. Maybe I'm a bad person, but just watching the faces of the fans during the game on TV almost brought tears of joy to my eyes. I was really choked up.

I hope the Rockies or Indians. Just for something different.

Unfortunately, it doesn't look like it will be the Yankees unless they really turn it around tonight. It's an uphill battle though.

So, anyone but the Red Sox, just to see them crying in their beers and chowdah at Fenway. That always gives me great pleasure!

The Chicago Schlubs were the best of the worst this year. Their whole division was poor this year and yet somehow the fans thought that being the top of the dung pile meant they had a shot at going anywhere in the play offs.

Toronto won a few times in the 1990s, FWIW. And there's a non-trivial chance that one of the major Japanese leagues is going to morph into a 'Pacific League' of MLB in the not too distant future.

Well, I'm no Cub fan, so I suppose I'm enjoying a bit of schadenfreude over their loss.

And, I agree with megamania -- just so long as it isn't the (gith)Yankees.

I'd like to see a team that hasn't done it in a while (if ever) go, so I suppose that makes me a fan of the Rockies or the Indians this time out.
