I'm with Mark. The Justicar & Escalla rawk!! Besides those two, the D&D/LXG cast would have to include:
  1. Mordenkainen
  2. Eclavdra
  3. Drizzt
  4. Elminster
  5. Raistlin Majere
  6. Khelben Arunsun
  7. Tasslehoff Burrfoot
  8. Tenser
  9. Wulfgar

Anyone else is just icing on the cake. :)

1.) Mordenkainen (WoG)
2.) Drizzt (FR)
3.) Jandar Sunstar (FR/RL)
4.) Raistlen (DL)
5.) Rikus (DS)
6.) The Nameless One* (PS)

* yes, I know he's just from the Torment videogame.

Wulf Ratbane
Vek Mormont (yeah, OK, he doesn't qualify on the 'still existing' count, but hey, he was cool.)
Artimas Sendant
Drusilia Naïlo (not that she'd get along with Vek or Artimas - so maybe Tensin instead? Sure, he fails the 'evil' test, but...)
...and...hmmm...
Nolin. He seems to be the most 'morally flexible' of the Defenders of Daybreak, and thus the most likely to fit in with the others.

And if you don't know who these people are, you've been reading the wrong kind of gaming fiction. ;)

No one's nominating the Simbul? the I will.

Also, I think the Guardian of Sigil (Lady of Doors? Lady of Pain? Lady of Mazes? can't remember!) could make an interesting addition :)

Mordenkainen assembles a team of heroes and villains from across the worlds, in order to combat threats that may affect the entire multiverse. His team consists of:

Strongheart the Paladin (D&D cartoon and toy line)
Lord Soth (from Dragonlance)
Elaith Craulnobel (from Forgotten Realms)
Marfeldt the Barbarian (from Blackmoor)

Among their many missions:

1) Prevent the invading forces of the Githyanki of Limbo from conquering the many worlds.
2) Defeat Vecna in his latest attempt to elevate himself to master of the divine pantheons.

Alias, Dragonbait, Nameless, and their friends

Raistlin, Lord Soth, Kitara, Caramon, Tanis

Takhisis

Merlin, King Arthur, and The Knights of the Round Table

Robin Hood and the Merry Men of Sherwood

William Wallace

Charlemagne

And a host of others I can't think of right now

I think I like this the best, though I'd change the roster a bit. I'd put Abdel Adrian (post-Baldur's Gate novel trilogy) for FR. I'd replace Lord Soth with Mina (blasphemy I know) for DL. I'd put in somebody else from Mystara instead of that Marfeldt guy (maybe Boggle).
