For what it's worth, I think Adkinson would be best.

I've spent a lot of time talking to Peter Adkison (well, years ago anyway), and I can't think of better hands for the game to wind up in.

But a one-man show would collapse pretty quickly.

So the aforementioned Cabal of Chris Pramas, Sean K Reynolds, Monte Cook, Clark Peterson, and Gary Gygax as his "top men" sounds good to me.

And, to me at least, I don't think Gygax's position would necessarily be just a nod to posterity. I have just finished perusing "Canting Crew" and thik EGG still has a lot af gas in the tank.

I think it should be a brand new company, although as already suggested it should recruit from the industry heavyweights. If an existing publisher bought it, the priorities might shift in unpredictable directions. White Wolf and AEG are perfect examples. I think White Wolf or AEG owning D&D is kind of scary.

Even better, Mircosoft should buy it AND Hasbro then reorganize the company with Wizards running Hasbro.
