Whoa... New Tripped Out WoTC Home Page...

Gotta say, I like the new site.

One the WotC forums, I have been hearing scattered reports of people not being able to sign into D&D Insider from those pages. Has anybody here been having the same problem?? If so, what OS/Browser please so I can pass it up to WotC.

I did initially with Firefox on Mac OSX, but only once. I haven't been able to recreate it, and Chrome works fine.

I think this is happening because everybody and their brother is checking out the new design and the site just can't upload all the information fast enough.

It probably happens because some browsers have cached the old stye sheet, which is what tells your browser how to lay out the page. New page content + old style sheet results in a mess.

Hitting reload/refresh tells your browser to load the new style sheet.

If you think that looks 'ok', then you have no idea what ok looks like.

EDIT: I just had a look at the site in Chrome on Windows 7 and suddenly realised why it looks the way it does in Safari on OS X. I have Click2Flash installed on Safari to block Flash. This means the web site designers have used Flash as a layout tool. That is so far beyond fail that it's even worse than just purely bad coding and design, it's INTENTIONALLY bad coding and design.

Hey, you know what site looks really good in Safari 5, even with flash blocked?

I was unable to log in to DDi last night from the new site but it seems to be working just fine now. Have to say though, I think the enworld forums are taking this whole website change a whole lot better than over there on the WotC boards. You'd think that WotC had painted their website with the blood of their first born children.

I am Jack's utter lack of surprise*. Sadly, that's pretty much the SOP of the 4e General Discussion forum nowadays (was it ever different? I fear not). The sky is falling, 4e skinned & ate my cat, WotC is teh evilz, et cetera. *sigh*

I don't dislike the new design, I just have to get used to it. The background colors shocked me a bit when I first saw them.

The funniest part is that most of them can't, for the life of them, figure out why the devs barely ever post there.
