And from what I can tell, Ranger, they mean either/or. I mean, if you read Melanie Rawn and Mercedes Lackey and Tamora Pierce, there's always a love story in there somewhere. I couldn't run a non-comedic onscreen romance with my geek-buddies, but like I said, it could be a good way to introduce new people -- and, y'know, grow as a person and stuff.
There's a love story in almost every [medieval] fantasy fiction novels I've read.

Well, I'm not fond of anything that bills itself as "romance," and people would have to pay me to read Mercedes Lackey and her ilk.

That said, I'm going to buy this, and am, in fact, looking forward to it. :)

Why? As others have said, the mechanics. The more examples we get of narrative/non-tactical D20, the better. And it's Green Ronin, which means I can pretty much bet on getting my money's worth out of it.

I think a lot more people are going to buy this book as an alternative to the minatures battle game that core D&D is. A lot more than the number of people who are going to buy it because they want a "Romantic Fantasy" game, i think.

I wouldn't be suprised if Blue Rose is successful for there to be a more traditional fantasy game released using similar rules.

"For girls."

I disagree, the authers that are being talked about I consider to write more character driven stories. They have problems they have relationships and the story is about the people and not the events. I think this is actually a great way to approach gaming having the characters be more important then the plot.
