See Spot. See Spot run. Run Spot, run! See Spot devour souls and rip the throats from his screaming victims as they gout blood. Devour Spot, devour!

For cases in which Spot = Chthulhu. Or, at least, Spot = Cujo. ;)

If memory serves me right, the Roman god of War - Ares, also held dogs in high regard.
No reason he could serve as lord of hounds as well.

He was eliminated as it was decided that if racial pantheon were not fit for 4th edition that animal/beast lords were downright redundant.

This allows good and noble dogs to worhship Heironious and vile and evil dogs to worship Hextor.

Just check the BIG HUGE LIST OF ALL D&D GODS

Have a heart - at least give the poor man a link to it if he didn't know about it...

A search for "canine" portfolio brings up:

Roofdrak
Demigod
Alignment: Neutral
Portfolio: Canines
Sources: Deities & Demigods (First Edition), Dragon magazine #54 - "Down-to-earth divinity"

Actually...Kord.

Seriously. Of the known 4e gods, he seems the one most likely to look out for Man's Best Friend.
