Why are there so few shirts, vests, and vestements?

I don't care about magic shirts.

Why ain't there magic pants? Why the crotch get no love? I mean every other body part has at least one magic item slot. Feet get a slot, hands get one, head, torso, evertyhing but from above the ankles to below the belt appears to have some strange anit-magic field around it.

I mean if a dwarf is going to enchant something to protect him, ain't the family jewels one of the first places he'd start.

I demand magic Pants, Pataloons of Slimming, Skirts of flying, Underoos of Jumping, Boxers of Protection +5, Shorts of Swimming, G-Strings of Wedging (Cursed Item, that); Briefs of Invisibility.

Give me liberty or give me magic pants!

I think the book of erotic fantasy has several magical items to, ahem, fill that slot. IYKWIMAITYD.:uhoh:

I think it has a lot to do with the fact that relatively few classes wear "armor", and D&D rules consider shirts to be the same as armor, if it provides some kind of armor bonus.

*** is confused  *** Are you saying this majority of characters can't wear a shirt with an armor bonus, or would incur a penalty, so choose not to?

With so many "quality" templates in 3.5, specific magic items are less detailed in 3.X. I think a book of magic items would do well in the 3rd party market. I bought a few for 3.0, and thought they were great books.

I hope those items are self cleaning... What happens if you fail a fear save in your Boxers of Protection +5? Do your characters just walk around in soiled Boxers?!?

This brings an even more interesting question to mind: Are barbarians toilet trained?

Seriously though, I'm all in favor of the manly no shirt characters. (Note: not Players)

To give those PCs with "Craft Wondrous Item" a place to exercise their creativity?

I think that perhaps there just wasn't a lot of mythic/fantasy inspiration for magic shirts - boots, gloves, etc. are fairly common...but you rarely hear about Hero X and his magic shirt....
