I've noticed that "obliged" has been killed and had its stuff taken by "obligated" for no good reason other than language changes - but I had to say something when I hears someome talk about a king being "coronated" - as a verb not adjective.

As a 3rd Grade teacher, I tend to just flat-out apologize to students when we encounter things like:

Through ("throo")
Though ("thoh")
Thought ("thott")

GHOTI is pronounced " fish."
