Why do people create different accounts for different locations?

Not that it's a problem - I'm just curious. Surely you can log into the same acount from any location?

Monte, of course, has two accounts: Monte and Monte@Home. I've just seen a new Ashtal@School account, and I'm sure I've seen others.

I imagine there's a very simple, practical reason why people do it and I'll kick myself when I find out what it is!

Like I said in my other post - honestly, I don't trust these public computers. (Or, should I say, the other users on the public system.)

And I think that the fact my proper account has mod-abilities is even more reason to be squeemish. All it would take is one nutter to get my password and s/he could make a fine mess.

I don't know why it really matters. There are only five people that post here anyway. All of the accounts just serve as alter egos for them.

I was able to break away apparently.

I use the same account from anywhere I post. I just make sure to log out before leaving.
