Why do you post in enWorld? And where do you most often post?

Personally, I post here because I know that most of us have at least one thing in common - gaming. There's a lot of people on here with a lot of gaming experience, and it's great to read about it.

Also, we seem a pretty mellow bunch (except maybe on the Rules board ;) ) and I've found, personally, that even when things get a little too intense, the next conversation is usually pretty civil. Frex, one of the BSG episode threads a couple of weeks ago was pretty messy by the end - but the next week everyone was civil again. Even in the face of me being completely stupid about rank structure. :p

I generally post here in OT, Media, Software, and Meta. I lurk in General and the Story Hour forums. Also, I'm determined that once I get stuff together and can be in a game again, I'll be posting it in the SH thread.

I've been posting here since the first boards began, sometime in 99 I think, and everyone here has pretty much become an extended group of good friends for me. Just about everyone here is intelligent, well spoken, and polite, and that's not something Ive found on very many (if any) other message boards. Especially ones about D&D. So it's kind of a combination of habit, feeling welcome, and wanting to read what my friends have to say on topics we are all interested in.

I pretty much stay in General, sometimes look into Rules until I get scared and run away wanting to keep my brain intact, and check out Media Lounge and Off Topic every once in a while.

This is a little roundabout, but...after I got addicted to Dragonlance literature I began to search for a place on the net where I could discuss the books. While searching for something else entirely I stumbled into the Wizards boards, which were the first boards I ever joined. A discussion in the DnD rules section then led me here.

What I then found here was a bunch of intelligent and funny people with interests similar to mine, many of whom were already familiar from Wizards. So I stayed. I'm more of a reader than a writer so keep writing and I'll keep reading. :)

My name is Maverick Weirdo and I am a gamer...

oh wait, wrong thread.

I'm another old-timer from the Eric Noah boards

I first started because I couldn't find a group,

I stayed because it turned into a community

Currently I am stalking every single member that I haven't met in person yet. ;)

I have posted regularly in the Rogues Gallery, Talking the Talk/Playing the Game, General, Off Topic, Story Hour, & Gamer seeking Gamer.

This past summer I found a gaming group and started "having a life" which has severly limited my time on the boards. I still check the General forum regularly for gamedays and post occasionally on Off Topic.

This is why I mostly lurk.
Actually, I am a relative newcomer here. I read the posts in the Off-topic, D&D, non-D&D, and a few other areas.

I also lurk at Candlekeep, the Order of the Stick, WotC, and Iron Crown forums, but post mainly at Candlekeep.

I am slowly warming up to Enworld and OotS forums because most people seem to be nice and don't bite each others heads off for breakfast (dinner is another matter... ;) )
