Why double on Power Attack with Two-handed?

Er. Barbarian plus power attack equals dead things. starting around level ten my barbarian was power attacking non stop. i was pretty much able to hit anything and everything so long as i rolled better than 5 or so. started the game with a 20 str. then had 22 with level bumps. then bought a belt of giant str. gave me a 26 then rage. 30 str. the joke is ME DEAL 1d12 plus 512 power attack.

and if nothing else it gives way to cleave and great cleave.

That's one change I hated about 3.5. I don't remember once hearing a TH fighter complain that he wasn't doing enough damage with power attack. It was balanced fine in 3.0, it was too strong in 3.5.
