D&D 4E Why I like the 4ed Forgotten Realms (and 4ed in general, for that matter)

She did it in the prequel novels to the avatar trilogy. She did not directly cut them from the weave, she instead made spells she considered too evil or too destructive so hard to cast that ut was nearly impossible to regain them. Both Talos and Tempus complained about their wizards needing hours to memorize a single of these spells.

After Midnight's ascent to Mystra's throne, she denied some evil people magic. I remember there was a big deal about it among the gods, and it was one of the things that inspired Kelemvor to change himself into the neutral death god he is today (he basically turned his back on her). I wanna say it happened in the Cyric books (Prince of Lies and Crucible).

She was basicaly slapped on the hand and reminded that her job is to be neutral and behold ALL magic, roughly.

I will at least read the book(s), and perhaps buy if I like. Somes changes saddened me a bit - Maztica, Eilistraee perhaps - but c'est la vie... and others facscinate me. It will at least earn me a read.

You don't like that they kept Eiliastrae (sp)? As far I know, she is the only drow god to have survived the edition change - apart from Lolth.

On the contrary, I love her... Rumors speak that she will/is changed, though. What happened in War of the Spider Queen and all that...

She is a beacon of hope, so it would make me sad to see her fades or become too neutral...

guess that if it happens - that she die or something like that, my feeform rping drow priestress would convert to Selune perhaps, if she still exist. In the worst of case... Not a very easy thing on the heart and soul, though.

AFAIK she killed Vaerlun and took his stuff - well his portfolio and worshippers anyway.

Yes, but there is postulates (spelling?) that there may be fusion, that she may veer more Neutral, harser and all... You can have such thing happening without perhaps an inner change...

Well, it's the fanboy speaking time.

I predict that she will still be dancing and protecting those drow of a less dark bent. Maybe only a secretive few worshippers will know her less savory side.

I can't back that up. At this point, I'm just pulling guesses out of my .... thin air.

Go read the first chapter of Salvatore's "The Orc King" from WOTC's website (free, legal download). It's set after the time jump, and it has Drizzt whining about something bad happening to the worshippers of Elistraeiaeeai.

I've read the book. There are no details. All we know for sure is that she is still around in the timeframe of the new edition.
