D&D 5E Why No D&D & MtG cross-over book for 30the anniversary if MtG?

It's not every year that MtG hits it's 30th birthday and having no Dominaria setting book or slipcase of books is an insanely missed opportunity.

They should have had a slipcase with a Dominaria/New Phyrexia setting book set during the current arc (Dominaria United,Brothers War, Phyrexia all are one, March of the Machines, Aftermath), a Beastairy, and an Adventure covering the whole arc. It practically begged for it.

And if that's not bad enough but later next year they have Wilds of Eldraine and Lost Caverns of Ixalan, both as far as I can tell very D&D vibing sets and no setting books for them either.

I've heard rumours that the Venture into the Dungeon will reappear in one or both of those sets.

Yet Strixhaven whose setting wasn't ready yet as barely anything outside the school was explored got a D&D book.

Why? So much missed potential and during MtG's 30th anniversary year.

Instead two absolutely boring sounding, uninspired, adventure/adventure anthologies, a book based on the Deck of Many Things, and a retread on 5e Giants that was well covered by VGtM. WTF? They should have had a MtG setting book.

Hopefully at least the March of the Machines set & Aftermath set will connect the Blibd Eternities to the 5e Great Wheel.

With so many of us looking at Ravnica, Theros, or Strixhaven as missed opportunities to have setting books for non-MTG settings, and thus whining about them, it's refreshing to hear from someone whose interests and (with no disrespect intended) sense of entitlement run exactly the opposite way. Shine on you MTG in D&D loving diamond!

So, try this on for size:

Crawford said when he Tweeted the 2023 schedule that they had announced "some" of what was coming out in 2023. Whi h means they might still have some surprises.

Keeping that in mond...Magic the Gathering is just about to start a 4 Set mega super crossover Multiverse shaking story leading into a new cosmic status quo.

What if...they are planning a 30th Anniversary Magic book...detailing the post-Phrexian War status quo? They wouldn't want to tip their hand too early, in that case

I wouldn't be surprised if someone high up thinks that putting out a crossover book will somehow take away from Magic's 30th anniversary, instead of being a celebration of it.

That being said, I'm very surprised there wasn't an announcement of a crossover. I'm also surprised that we didn't get anything for the brand new settings which were targeting next year too.
