Why the resistance to the new(er) edition?

Not so cheap when you like to buy books by Bastion, Malhavoc, Green Ronin, Mongoose, etc. and a lot of the rules in them need conversion to work with the new edition. Cheap if you just play with the three core rule books maybe, but my library is much more extensive than that.

Besides, why do I want to buy three books I already have when so much other cool stuff is out, like AU for instance? Yeah, I plan to upgrade eventually, but when my wallet and available time can afford it.

I agree with Force User, 3.5 is really good. The problem is that the changes in my opinion are TOO good. I don't want to venture out of the core rulebooks anymore! Need to print out the conv document.

About Savage Species, BoVD, and Arms&Eq- SS was already 3.5 compatible. The sidebar in SS states that the book assumes the changes to the rules for monsters made in the 3.5 MM. The BoVD? Looks like the changes are a little annoying, but good preperation and the ability to roll with it work fine. The same seems to go for Arms and Eq.

I don't seem to mind it so much.

Aaron.

The people in my group feel that the revision stinks because it is sucha an obvious ploy by the corporation to make more money. They think they can get another $90+ from everyone by revising a system that doesn't need fixed

A corporation? Trying to make money? Ye gods, man!!!

It's not like the WotC hit squad will come to your house and rough you up if you're still using 3.0 next year...

...probably. ;)

Yep.

Ironic story: I don't buy much d20 stuff. Other than the rare gem (MMS:WE, AU) I pretty much avoid non-WOTC products like the plague; I have little desire to sort the wheat from the chaff. Still, I sometimes indulge. When a player in my campaign decided to go with a conjurer (before the 3.5 revisions) I felt that the specialization was a little weak, so I looked around for d20 stuff that might add some power to conjuration. That's when I noticed the new Conjurer book by Mongoose. What the heck, I thought, I'll give the author a shot to impress me. Aware that I was putting my money into a third-party book sight unseen, I bought it.

MY GOD THAT BOOK SUCKED. Thirty minutes after purchasing it I wanted my money back. The author has no sense of 3E game design or balance, and I was stunned that someone had actually published it. I love reading professional stuff, but the book had me thinking "I could write a better conjurer book than this," and I don't consider myself a rules guru at all.

And that's why I usually stick to WOTC.

That was funny, in a very, very wrong way. Alas, it's really not appropriate for EN World. Sorry, Toe.

Add Malhavok, and I am right there with you. AFAIAC, WotC has not been in the top tier quaility-wise since their big firing spree.

Carrot Top,

man you killed on Regis and Kelly this morning!

but seriously start wearing underwear. A thong to be specific. Its time a masculine entity in the media limelight brought the gift of man thong to us all.

I have no complaints against the rules of 3.5 just its sloppy execution. If any of us bought a car that had body damage, none of us would pay full price for it. PHB and DMG have some body damage, they run great dont get me wrong. You just shouldnt make people pay for stuff thats damaged.

did that make any sense?

anyhow,

CT how much yoyu benchin now man? 210? 180?

MAN THONG!! HEEYAW!
