Why you hittin' yo'self? (damage reduction questions)

Oh, and if you cast Animate Objects on a steel door, it becomes a medium creature, gains a +4 natural armor bonus to AC, and thus becomes impossible to harm with a whip. *grin*

Whips are messed up, they are treated like melee weapons except that they do not threaten and provoke AOO when used, just like a ranged weapon. Wotc, make up your mind!!

Caliban, Yeah, but per the rules you might or you might not be able to damage a steel door with a whip. Let's make a bet. Here's what we do. We set up a poll and if more people choose "No" (to 'can you damage a steel door with a normal whip'), I win. :)

I wasn't aware we were in competition. I already stated that I would have no problem with a DM ruling that a whip can't damage a steel door. (Or a wooden door for that matter.)

I'm the guy who thinks all the RAW arguements are counterproductive once you take them beyond a certain point, remember?

Don't forget that, by the rules, a whip can be wielded in two hands for double power attack. Toss in Frenzied Berserker, and you can break down doors at 20th level with ease.

Leap Attack with the Whip!
