Wil Wheaton in Dungeon Magazine [merged]

I have a hard time fathoming how Wil's column can be seen as anything other than a Good Thing(tm), not to mention the desires of gamers for the hobby to actively avoid doing things that might increase its popularity.

Wil's blog is a hoot. If he can birng that kind of wit and insight (and his cult following) to Dungeon, then I'm all for it.

Wil deserves it. He's definitely a nice guy! I worked with him and beat him over the head a couple times a few weeks ago to get a foreword for the Knights of the Dinner Table: Tales from the Vault vol. 1 reprint, and then after he gets it in, I find out my production guy already sent it to press!

Fortunately, we were still able to use it in KoDT (issue 91, I think) as an article. Still, it give me a minor heart attack, but Wil took it very well. :)

Don't know about Vin, but I believe Wil is playing a Tiefling, and last I heard he was trying to decide between a Psion, Psychic Warrior, or Soul Knife. It's a point-buy system using 78 points, distributed however one wants, max 18 and min 3 before racial bonuses/penalties. I don't know how he's distributing his points. I do know that he's really excited to play and was enjoying the new XPH.
He's playing a Tiefling soulknife. Stats haven't been finalized yet, but will be before Wednesday.

Look at it this way. Lots of cute girls read Wils site because of Stand By Me, right? Lets just assume that a "few" of them get their intrested piqued into D&D because of his article. They pick up an issue of Dungeon, read the article, and decide to try D&D. BOOM! More female gamer chicks! Dont we all benefit?!

I love that part the best.*points up to quote*

Wil is in all honesty a human with feelings and such. So respect the man.(I am actually 4 days older then he is...( *does a dance*)

I do actually look forward to seeing his perspective in Dungeon though.
