Wildshaping Druid

Any ideas on equipment for a wildshaping druid level 15?

Everything I can think of is worn and so disappears and becomes nonfunctional when in wildshaped form.

If you get a Wilding Clasp (4000 gp), then the item it's attached to does not become nonfunctional in wildshape form. It's originally from Masters of the Wild (3.0), but I believe it's been reprinted in the Magic Item Compendium (same price).

It has.

Also note that if your DM does not allow wildling clasps (I have heard of some that do not), you can take levels in the Daggerspell Shaper prestige class to gain the ability to benefit from some melded items.

Armour with the Wild attribute...allows you to keep the bonuses (and maybe ac value but I can't remember for sure) while in wildshape.

Hmmm... if they have a particular form they use a lot (like a wolf or horse) there could be some item they throw on the ground that the new form can use once they've shifted. Not always practical, but could work if circumstances dictated.

Why wouldn't a DM allow wildling clasps? They don't seem overpowered enough to ban to me.

All I can say is, stick around on the boards. You'll be surprised at what people find overpowered. ;)

ANYTHING a druid can do additionally could be considered to be overpowered if it's more than he can already do from the PHB ;)

+1 on Wild armour, maybe with energy res of some kind? Ioun Stone would keep circling, a cloak makes a good saddle blanket, get 2 sets of boots of haste... :)

Actually the argument runs the other way. According to the text of the Wild ability, you retain the Armor (+Enhancement) bonus of the armor when you wildshape, but it doesn't say anything about letting you use other special properties (Energy Resistance) of the armor.

And, FWIW, we've ruled that the Amulet of Mighty Fists works just fine when wildshaped given that it specifically calls out that it works for natural attacks.
