Will Arnett to voice the new KITT

wow - I'm not a car fan, so exact make and model don't matter that much to me but... Wow, that's not KITT.

Well, duh. It's not the 2000. It's the new 3000.

2e is to 3e as Knight Industries 2000 is to Knight Industries 3000.

It's not going to sound right. If they won't use William Daniels (KITT original voice), they could at least use Peter Cullen (KARR original voice, but known for the voice of Transformers Optimus Prime).

I'm not bothered by the choice of voice actor. Will Arnett is a damn fine actor on screen, I imagine he'll do fine voicing KITT.

However, despite the fact I LOVE, LOVE, LOVED this show as a kid, I don't see how it's even within the realm of possibility for them to "reimagine" Knight Rider and make it anywhere near cool, regardless of the voice or body chosen for KITT.

Is the Hoff going to show up in the film at all? Just curious.

That's like saying Betty White will do fine remaking Debbie Does Dallas.

Because the original series with the Hoff (before he was called "the Hoff") is just for us oldtimers. The new one will be for this generation of audience.

Well, I've been watching episodes from the original series on practically a daily basis, so I'm going to give it a try tonight.

Due to contract problems with Will Arnett (he is the commercial voice of GMC and KITT is a Ford), Arnett was replaced with Val Kilmer.

To really get the international audience, esp Germany; this is what they should do.

1. Resign Hoff for the movie. Even if it's a made for TV movie in the states, it'd be a blockbuster in Gemany.

2. Kitt should be a Volkswagon Beetle. After all, the car is cute & cute sell toys.

3. Kitt should be voiced by Michael Jackson. He still has a huge following globally.

4. It needs to be a musical, capturing 2 of the greatest vocal talents of all time.

Admit, you'd have to watch. Just like a wreck on the highway, you'd have to stop to see just how bad the wreck is.

Val Kilmer? How the mighty have fallen, to go from a top box office draw to the voice of a talking car.

That said, I had no idea the new Kitt was a GT-500 KR. I wonder if it will get the Super Snake option (taking the hp up to 725)? (if it becomes a series, anyway)

The new KITT is just butt ugly, and that's coming from a devoted Ford man. I mean they could have used one of the last year Firebirds. My brother got the last model year Firehawk and it's a beautiful car. Drop in a hotter engine and you'd have a beast with looks.

Watching the Knight Rider movie now. It's a total non-event.

Kitt's voice has no personality whatsoever. Boring villain with fake Euro-trash accent. The commerical's are stupid. Kitt's boxy. Kilmer is just mouthing his lines without any energy.

Hmm. Just realized something that may be pertinent to some of you as well: the first Knight Rider was pretty mediocre too, and I'm not thirteen anymore.

The new GT-500 is stylized to look after the original GT-500, which while overrated imho (the 70 Bosses were better), is so much in demand, a company started making licensed copies a few years ago.

Personally, I would have picked this one
