Will different core settings be geared toward a particular "tier" of play?

No, I agree with him. Krynn's god's need slapped down.

I would totally run a paladin 1-30 in DL with the goal of killing off their supposedly LG patriarch god, as justice for all the innocent children slaughtered when he dropped a mountain on that city. Balls to the wall, dude, and let justice be no respecter of persons.

You're a little late to the party. Paladine and Takhisis aren't around any longer.

Cheers,
Cam

Ah. I haven't really kept up with any of that stuff these days. How'd they go out?

Paladine sacrificed his godhood in order to render Takhisis mortal, so that she could be run through with a dragonlance by Alhana and Porthio's son Silvanoshei in the War of Souls trilogy.

But yeah, it's OK. I forget sometimes that folks don't exactly pay attention to DL as much as I do. ;)

I'll send you your Raistlin Fanboy Club membership package. ;)

Does it have membership numbers? Of course, we all know who has #1--her name's on the books. :)

"Idiot gods of Krynn." That's a first. It makes me think of Azathoth burbling at the corner of the Abyss, spawning kodragons with little panpipes.

Cheers,
Cam

I've said it before--Krynn makes so much more sense when you realize that the gods aren't gods, and Everything Is a Lie. ;)

If you do it right the Kult idea can be applied to any setting. Your players will never trust your games again.

I love Kult.

Oh, me too. But it's not exactly the baseline for Dragonlance.

I think the setting that is best suited for the 3-tier framework of 4e is Mystara. 4e feels like BECMI to me.

Cam
