Will you bee seing Doom?

Even though the trailers don't give me very high hopes for the movie, I'll probably go see it just becaue the original DOOM is one of my favorite video games of all time. I can still vividly remember just how blown away I was the first time I played it.

Plus, I want to see what the BFG 9000 looks like. :)

According to the current EGM magazine, there's a four minute long first person sequence during the finale. I'm curious, but it'll be a DVD rental at best.

I doubt in the theatres. When I saw Serenity the trailer was actually jeered rather strenously. -snip-
I have to admit I am slightly intrigued by the shots of the trailer indicating that the movie might make a real and concerted effort to convey the 1st person view. If the movie truly was 1st person,(or a signifigantly large portion of it), that would be innovative enough to to possibly warrant a looksie.

Hmm. When I saw the trailer in front of Serenity it was specifically the 1st person shots that got the jeers.

They look completely ridiculous to me too.
Count me out.

I MIGHT rent it if i'm looking for a comedy.

Doubtful

When I first heard of this, which was pretty recently, I figured I might go see it, because I like The Rock, and I'd like for him to have a good career. I try to support actors I like. And Doom was and still is my favorite video game. Doom and Heretic were the first games I ever played on a computer. I miss DMing with my pals on Doom.

Then I learned the creatures aren't from hell; apparently, they're some sort of Resident Evil bio-mutant rejects. That shook my enthusiasm a little bit, but I figured I might still get my rocket-launching cyberdemon and spider-mech guys, so if I can afford it after seing Serenity a couple more times, I'll go.

Then one of you people pointed out that it's directed by the guy who directed Cradle 2 the Grave (and apparently Romeo Must Die also). Now, I think I might rent it, but it's more likely I'll wait until one of my friends buys it, and then I'll just borrow the copy. Romeo Must Die was Crap, but Cradle made me weep for Jet Li and Marc Dacoscos. And I just can't support the guy who made that happen.

You mean that zombie movie which happens to be called Doom, even though it doesn't feature demons from Hell at all and the Big :):):):):):):) Gun is called Bio Force Gun?
Yeah, probably, if there's nothing better to see.

Boy, do I feel old now... So much for Ask Eliza and Colossal Cave.

Saw the trailer -- thought, hm, Doom's plot was basically, "kill things." I might rent it if the reviews are OK.

That was my thought about it as well. If I'm gonna blow money on DOOM, then I'll just play the videogame.

And usually movies based on videogames suck. Which is the main reason why I haven't seen any of them.

If you haven't seen any of them, how would you really know if they sucked or not?
