Wintertouched/Lasting Frost/Frost Weapon.

If a Rogue takes the Wintertouched and Lasting Frost feats, which respectively causes a creature with vulnerability to cold to grant combat advantage and the other gives a creature vulnerability to cold with any power using the cold keyword, could they activate the Lasting Frost feat to give an enemy vulnerability to cold by using the At-Will power on a Frost Weapon which changes all damage to cold damage (containing the cold keyword) and infinitely have combat advantage?

After your first hit (to trigger lasting frost and make the target vulnerable) you would have CA with wintertouched on your next attack, and could maintain it as long as you never miss. Once you miss you need to re-establish it with a fresh hit. It's not as broken as it looks, considering that there are so many other ways to get CA that rogues can pretty much have it every turn. It is a handy combo for lazy rogues though.

Yeah, aren't you looking at this too much from the melee rogue's angle, OPS?

That is, wouldn't this be a winner for the ranged rogue, who can manufacture Sneak Attack conditions for himself without anyone at all entering melee?

Well, it is also a +5 to damage in addition to "free" combat advantage, is it not?

Well... choosing to use Frost and spend two feats over using Footpad's or Reckless or Bloodclaw or whatever is probably worth about 5 damage.

It's a whole lot more useful if you get the rest of your party to do the same thing, so that everyone who hits the foe extends the vulnerability and everyone gets the extra damage. I have a Lasting Frost Warlord and our Sorcerer is getting a fair bit of mileage out of the frost at-will because of it.

And it's easy to mooch off the combo even without all the parts of it. A caster with a frost power or two and Wintertouched can get CA by aiming at the same targets as the Frost Weapon/Lasting Frost user.

I got over worrying about this. Its not so much this feat combination that worries me, its the absense of synergies for other elements that gripes me. Sure, there are feats for other elements, but it just seems like frost is the go cause these two feats synergise so well. It just seems unnatural that there are so many "frost users" out there simply because of a two feat combo istead of issue of game lore.

Sorry to partially steal this thread but I have a question thats related, I believe.

Say I take a few feats to enhance lightning damage (lightning arc, etc) then I acquire a lightning weapon, when I switch it to lightning damage instead of physical do I count the feat bonus into damage rolls and effects of weapon powers when I use that weapon (powers that by themselves do not have the lightning keyword.)?
