D&D 5E With the release of each new setting book, the SCAG looks worse and worse...

Not really, there has been multiple edition support in detail for Cormyr and the Moonsea, as well as the Lands of Intrigue (Amn, Tethyr, Calimshan) and the Unapproachable East (Thay, Aglarond, and Rashemen). Even the Shining South has had at least two accessories in two different editions. Sembia was in a weird position at the start since it was supposed to be "left blank" by the developers for players to use as a blank slate, but that got dropped and there was decent coverage afterwards.

It's really the lands along the southern shore of the Sea of Fallen Stars from Turmish through Mulhorand that have really had lack of coverage, outsise of the pretty short module-length paperback accessories back on 2e. There a couple of other areas here and there that also lack sustained coverage (the Bloodstone Lands come to mind), but the area I mentioned is the largest and most notable.

Those areas got something, but still pretty light and with massive room for expansion by the DM compared to the Sword Coast.

I'd also like to see official updates for some FR-specific monsters like the phaerimm, sharn, and malaugrym, among others...

I think the Monsters and deep lore character (like Red Wizards) and Adventure generation options make another FR book an eventual probability...but it is complicated for WotC, compared to say Dark Sun (which based on today's UA article may be immanent).

Does anyone see the irony in the "If a setting has a lot of books, it has a lot of books because that setting sells well, meaning it is popular, and deserves more books"?

I'm seeing some FR fans here making that argument for why FR has so many past books, and is the most popular. I'm not sure they really want to die on that hill...

After all, they're complaining that FR hasn't gotten enough content... but if content made determines popularity, then there being only the SCAG as a setting book perhaps means that FR is perhaps not as popular as it once was?

None of that lore has changed.

Nah. Change for the sake of change is usually bupkis. Nothing after the Time of Troubles has hit my world other than what I and the players have done to it via gaming. Trying to add in the new bad stuff would just invalidate decades of gaming that my group has done in the Realms.

None of your "opposition" is here. None. WotC doesn't come here to find out what they should do next. Being a pain in the arse here is a waste of everyone's time.

Of actually I've heard that WotC does take peaks and is aware of at least some of what goes down here and other major RPG forums. Plus I also bug them on twitter.

And yeah the lore has changed in the sense that it older then it was, none of reflects current circumstances in FR.

And your homebrew version of FR while fine I'm sure, has no bearing on this discussion.

So bug them on twitter and their website. And despite what you've heard, they aren't coming here to read all the threads. They have better things to do with their time and much, MUCH better ways to get information.

Being a pain in the arse here will just end up pissing people off and reducing the number of people interacting with you.

"Current" is whatever year you decide to run the game in. It's not like time passes in the Realms in real time.

No one is forcing you to interact with me. This is a place to debate, but no one is forced to respond if they don't want to. I will defend my position when it gets challenged, but I'm not spamming the forums, Morrus would never stand for it.
