Wizard of the Coast Updated Product Listing!

Nightfall

Sage of the Scarred Lands
http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=products/dndlist&brand=All&year=2007&tablesort=5

I sorted this in descending order (IE from end of 2007 to now.)

For some of us, these titles are familiar. (Rob you sly, sly devil! You got TWO products, not just the one! :p You are an evil, evil man)

For those inquiring about the Dungeon Survival Guide, it's not Dungeonscape so much as "How to Survive in "Insert famous dungeons." guide. Should be interesting.

Also of note to FR fans, while not a Rule book it is however a FR fluff book. Should be of some use to someone, I'm sure.

Sold! Edit: I misread that a bit, thought the Dungeon Survival Guide was a guidebook of fluff for famous FR dungeons. It'll still get a look though.

Schwalb's Elder Evils book has me curious.

The FR releases look promising, though the lack of true regional sourcebooks is still a sore spot, but I might be tempted to buy some of the supermodules just to plunder them for ideas.

I confess myself underwhelmed, at first glance. Elder Evils might be worth a look, but even though I loved the earlier FR regional sourcebooks I'm not going to buy one in which half the page count is an adventure I'll never use (and seriously, I can't be the only one that thinks Shar and the Shades and the Shadow Weave are utterly lame and uninspiring villains!)

When you add to that the fact the I can't stand the new MM format, and that Exemplars of Evil looks (thus far) like a collection of NPCs, that leaves Complete Champion and possibly the Rules Compendium that I might be interested in. Oh well, good for the wallet I suppose...

Humble,

Hey I'll get Exemplars just for the fact Rob wrote the darn book! :p

As for the FR sourcebook, eh it's at least more Fluff than crunch.

Anything Schwalb get's an auto buy from me. Well at least more than somethings from WotC.

The FR releases meh. But like you said it's good way to mine for things.

How to survive the Tomb of Horrors doesn't require a chapter in a book. All the useful advice can be contained on a Post-It note. It runs: "Don't Go".

The Rules Compendium looks interesting. I hope it'll include a detailed, in-depth explanation of the grapple mechanic. The designer commentary is also intriguing.

Grand History of the Realms must also be mine.

Ni,

Yeah but what if you get knocked unconscious and wake up in there? ;) You're kind of SOL. ;) With this, less chance of that happening.

the Rules Compendium incorporates official errata as well as behind-the-scenes designer and developer commentary explaining how the rules system has evolved and why certain rules work the way they do.

That's certainly perked my interest in the RC.

I notice they don't have a listing for the Complete Warrior 2 (or whatever it's going to be called). With Complete Champion due out in May, it seems like the fourth one should come some time in the seven months after that. I suppose fighters will have to wait for Jan 2008 for their book.

The Compendiums and the Monster Manual look to be the only things I'll pick up this year... which is markedly different from last year, when I picked up probably a book a month or so.

Wow. Well, if the new Complete books impress me, that might up the total a little, but all in all, seems like a slow year.

(insert 4e rumor here)
