Wolfgang Baur's Open Design #3 down to Ghouls vs. City-State

I'm interested in both. I'll give it a shot. Put me down for the Ghouls today, but if I can get access to Steam and Brass I'll give Zobek a shot for #4.

It seems I'll have to get a 3rd job so that I can make enough money to fund Zobeck all by myself - it seems the ravenous ghouls are going to win! Oh sad-happy day! Yeah for OD #3 and woe for the city-state...

I voted Zobeck just this morning ;)

Boo, hiss! :p

Can someone direct me to where the poll results are? I can't seem to find it, despite wandering aimlessly around the site for a good half-hour. I think the Ghouls are ahead but I'm not sure.

Ditto. The folks locking down Steam & Brass are obviously within their rights, as Wolfgang has said, but there's certainly the presumably unintended side effect of hurting the chances for sequels and supplemental materials.

Actually I think that it has the reverse effect. Wolfgang has stated that he would probably put the best stuff from Steam and Brass in a future project. If there a lot of people that missed out on the first project that want this stuff then such a project would be likely to get a lot of votes.

I'm not 100% sure on what the deal is but I think that Wolfgang can but stuff from Steam and Brass in a future project without patron permission, he just can't sell the whole thing as-is to people besides the original patrons. Wolfgang may want to correct me on this though.

Two paying customers are saying they're voting against Zobeck because of this issue and voting for the ghouls instead. There hasn't been any sort of testimony to the contrary, that I've seen. Maybe there will be a S&B sequel, but it won't be because the first module is locked-down, but despite it.

To clarify:

I'm not actually interested in the adventure, I just want all of the tinkery bits for technomancers in my homebrew. Having the adventure would be nice, but I would be in that race for the crunch.

Even so, undeath is my second favorite theme. Only mind flayers make my leathern heart quiver faster. Which is a shame that they are closed content because I would love to see Wolfgang write up a conspiracy involving them.

I'll note that there is a reasonably good chance of some of the open bits being released in other formats. While the audience for the adventure is reasonably small, a very high percentage of them are game designers.

Also, Wolfgang isn't shy about using other people's material. Here is a list of the sources named in the copyright section of the d20 license.
