Wolfgang's "Demonweb Q&A"

Storm,

You'd have to ask my source. But I can say that considering the players involved (such as Rule of Three, Graz'zt and even Lolth), it's certainly intriguing for an Orcus fan like me.

Agreed. I love the notion of the "main" dungeon of a module also serving as the nexus point for exploring other, more "out-there" locales. In fact, I'd love to see that idea expanded on, with the "sub-planes" (or whatever conceit was used in its place in this hypothetical adventure) expanded into whole side trek adventures.

I ran an entire campaign in one of those sub-planes: Maldev, and the war between the dwarves and Lolth's humanoids. It was fun, but ended in a TPK, IIRC.

The module involves Sigil? Bummer. Maybe I won't be picking this one up after all.

The first half does.

Not a PS fan? A lot of what we have in D&D wouldn't be here without PS :p

Case in point.

LOL, fair enough. I don't involve myself in Eberron discussions here very much. I guess it was my assumption that most of the posters here had informed opinions.

Maybe it's the cant and crappy art, but PS turned me off immediately. It definitely felt more sci-fi, as others have said.

I like all attention in the cosmos focused on the Prime and that something really can't be defined as truly important until and unless it impacts the Prime and the Prime is the crossroads of the multiverse. From what I've gathered, Sigil takes the place of the Prime in far too many cases. If an angel needs to deal with a devil, whether in battle or negotiation, that must happen on the Prime (or the near ether, IMC -- second sight is scary) or one side will have to tread on the other's turf.

It probably isn't so much that I hate PS as I hate Sigil.

Well I don't know how you quantify an informed opinion in this case, but having been playing and DMing since 1983 in each of its incarnations/editions I feel this does give some small (perhaps tiny) measure of weight to my opinion on the matter. My opinion in this case is that DnD never has and still doesn't need to publish official campaign settings filled with airships, trains, and PC robots/transformers especially in an era where they are supporting so few settings. They should have left the robots to the third party publishers and redone Greyhawk or Mystara DnD didn't need a steampunk remix.
