Wolverine's Revenge?

Hey, guys! I picked up "Wolverine's Revenge", the console port to PC game, at EB on the cheap, and just loaded it up last night. Holy cow, what a craptastic game. I am a big X-Men fan, which was barely enough to keep me suffering through it for a couple of hours. The controls suck royally, and most amazing of all, the game crashes on a regular basis running on my very decent PC. I looked for a patch download, but no luck. Am I missing something, or should I just give up and realize that I wasted the cash?? :uhoh:

As a general rule, video games that are also movie tie-ins are terrible. Wolverine's Revenge was timed with X-Men 2 I believe.

Though, Chronicles of Riddick for Xbox is supposed to be superlative, but that's the only exception to the movie tie-in rule I'm aware of.

Yeah everything I've seen about Wolverine's Revenge it was a poorly designed beat-em up.

The only other recent good movie to game tie in is Spider-Man 2 on the consoles. However Spider-Man 2 on the PC is a bad, bad game from everything I've heard. Basically the PC and console versions are two different games and done by two different development houses.

Hey, Dreamer! It is funny that you mention Spiderman 2; I was back in EB this past weekend, and saw a copy of the PC SM 2 already in the discount rack- I was sorely tempted to get it, until I remembered that I just got burned with Wolverine. Thanks for saving me some cash, guys! ;)

I played and finished ( ) Wolverine's Revenge for the Xbox; it deserves all the trash-talking it gets. While I liked the stealth/combat features, the targetting was bad, even the Xbox edition was buggy, and the level designs were erratic and increasingly difficult, ramping up to impossible pas 2/3rd of the way through; I scraped through on codes through the last couple of levels, and had to use an invulnerability feat to even have a chance of defeating Deathstrike at the end.....and it still took almost 95 MINUTES to finish the final game level WITH INVULNERABILITY....!!!!

I was pretty much in your boat: got the game, couldn't return it, and was hell-bound to get my money's worth (+I was getting back in to X-Men, courtesy of the movie).

Instead of wasting precious hours of your life on this game, I would suggest looking for X-Men Legends, which is a more role-playing, Baldur's Gate style of game that is getting good reviews, and is a comic tie-in, not a movie tie-in. I picked it up today, coincidentally, and am much more impressed so far.

Well, I regret that you were stuck also Cama, but I guess I am glad that I am not the only one. :o Anyway, after my PC crashed the 8-9 times playing it, I gave up on the game- not worth it. Is X-Men legends being ported to PC? I would like to play it, but do not own a console (too much fighting with the wife for TV time..!). I love the KOTOR PC port, so it can be done well. It just usually is not. :)
