Words with Pejorative Ethnic Connotations

There is currently a thread at the top of General titled "When the GM gips you (a rant)". The word "gip" or "gyp" is a derogatory reference to Gypsies. I think this community can do without such.

It is an established word in the English language. :shrug: I think phrasing something as 'sinister' inaccurately depicts southpaws, which further implies that left-handed people are less than human ('paw' instead of 'hand').

We've considered this before, and whatever its origins are, its meaning is no longer intended to be derogatory. We consider its use to be okay here.
