World's worst D&D soundtrack

I'd have to say "Tunak Tunak Tun", by Daler Mehndi. I mean *I* like it, but it made all my players drool and twitch, so it's no good for D&D by default. But the video would be a good prop for a hypnotic pattern spell... I think it's the lemon yellow turban..

We had this debate at a game a few years back, and the song "MacArthur Park" (Richard Harris version) topped the list, although some of those already listed also made the worst five list.

Now what's the answer to the actress question?

I can't imagine when j-pop would be appropriate for gaming, but it pales in comparison to the horrifying effect of a Karen Carpenter medley during combat.

Not appropriate for gaming? One word: BESM.

Hee hee. All the otaku are crawling out of the woodwork. Try these songs for good anime music:

-Dance of Curse - Escaflowne
-Liberi Fatali - Final Fantasy VIII
-Kaneda - Akira soundtrack
Tetsuo - Akira soundtrack
-Several of the tracks from the playstation game Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, like Enchanted Banquet, Death Ballad, and Festival of Servants. (I know it's not anime, but I like it enough to mention it anyway.
-Deedlit's Lute - Record of Lodoss War - Good for quiet roleplaying situations
-Fire Dragon - Record of Lodoss War

Bad songs:
-All Your Base Are Belong To Us - Invansion of the Gabber Robots
-A lot of NIN songs. It's not that NIN isn't good, they're terrific, but they're not quite the right stuff for dungeon crawling. Maybe V:TM, though.
-All For You - LFO
-Atom and his Package
-Freezepop
-Looper
-Flogging Molly

That's enough for now.

I'd have to cast my vote to a group I've come to know, to love, and to laugh my ass off at, through the game Dance Dance Revolution:

E-Rotic

Don't get me wrong, I love some of their stuff--great to dance to with catchy beats and slightly off-the-wall lyrics; "Do it All Night" "The Temple of Love" and "In the Heat of the Night" are all favorites of mine--but then there are their hits like....

"Max, Don't Have Sex with your Ex"
"Fritz Play with my tits"
"Willy Use a Billy"
and who can forget
"Oh Nick, Please Not so Quick"

I wonder why these people are allowed to write their own lyrics--it's simply too hard to stifle the laugher to be used for D&D music. Europop is probably one of the harder musics to play D&D by...though Runaway by Real McCoy is one of my gaming group's favorite songs...well was...back when they DID have some sense to run away when things got ugly. :D

Not to forget Fithos Lusec... :)

-All Your Base Are Belong To Us - Invansion of the Gabber Robots

Maybe not for D&D, but playing that song OVER and OVER during a Paranoia game would be a great mindscrew... :)

-A lot of NIN songs. It's not that NIN isn't good, they're terrific, but they're not quite the right stuff for dungeon crawling. Maybe V:TM, though.

NIN doesn't work well for typical fantasy, but I'd say that Downward Spiral and The Fragile have been two of my favorite Planescape Soundtracks (along with Einsturzende Neubauten's Silence is Sexy).

Early NIN is good for cyberpunk-type games, but I prefer using Orgy, Zeromancer, KMFDM or Gravity Kills... :)

Bohemian Rhapsody by Queen (I hated it when it came out and I still hate it, Wayne's World notwithstanding)
I don't think it's good for DnD sessions... but how can anyone hate this song? It's classic!
